One Click to Support School Librarians!

Schools across the country are starting to finalize their budgets. In many places that means cutting school librarians.

Schools across the country are starting to finalize their budgets.

In many places that means cutting school librarians.

This is especially true in communities where school librarians have already been threatened and attacked.

But the ones who truly lose when school libraries are cut are the students.

We made it easy to send your legislators an email to ask them to fund and support school librarians.

Studies show that having adequate library access is one of the major counters against poverty when it comes to levels of reading success.

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and the 4th-grade National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) documented a decline in reading scores when schools experienced a loss of librarians.

If everyone who opens this email clicks to share this campaign on Facebook and Twitter, we'll reach millions of Americans!

Nijma Esad's research shows that Students who have little or no access to librarians and the services they provide are disadvantaged in ways that can affect them for the rest of their lives.

We need your help to make sure that students in the United States will continue to have access to their school libraries.

That's why we made it easy to email your state legislators and ask them fund and support school libraries.

Then, help us reach more people like you.
